Tabit at the “Innovative Smart Farming Models for Agriculture 4.0” Multicountry Workshop

Within the framework of the Agricultural Mechanization and Information Technologies Working Group under the General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and as a member of the Asian Productivity Organization through the Ministry of Industry and Technology, a workshop titled “Multicountry Observational Study Mission on Innovative Smart Farming Models for Agriculture 4.0” was held on June 29–30, 2022.

Hosted by Turkey and Japan, the workshop brought together subject matter experts from China, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Cambodia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Iran. Presenters from Turkey included Prof. Dr. Ufuk Türker from Ankara University, Canan Erakman from TAGEM, and Dr. Mesut Yıldırır from the International Livestock Research and Training Center, who shared insights on Smart Farming Technologies for Agriculture 4.0 in Turkey.

On the first day of the workshop, TABIT Smart Village R&D Manager Orhan Kurt joined live from the Smart Village, presenting Smart Farming Technologies in Crop and Livestock Production for approximately 90 minutes. Before the live presentation, a short introduction video of the Smart Village, prepared by TABIT Smart Village Agricultural Content Editor Ece Nur Baloğlu, was shown to the participants.

During the presentation, Orhan Kurt provided information about the Agricultural Monitoring Center and highlighted awards received by TABIT Smart Village Co-Founder Tülin Akın. The session continued with a live tour of the Smart Village, showcasing technologies such as:

  • Next-Generation Olive Orchard Layout with Digital Leaf Technology
  • Family-Type Poultry Farming and Technology
  • Next-Generation Production Field Trellis System
  • Fig Root Tip Moisture Measurement Technology
  • Smart Pasture and Collective Milking Systems

On the second day of the workshop, Hüseyin Cüneyt Menkü, founder of HCM Farm, presented Smart Farming Technologies in Livestock Production live for approximately 60 minutes.

The workshop was followed by numerous participants from both Turkey and abroad, providing a platform for international knowledge exchange in Smart Agriculture.
