Tülin Akın at the “The Future of Food is in Our Hands” Summit

The impacts of climate change on food supply and potential solutions were discussed at the “The Future of Food is in Our Hands” summit, organized by the Turkey Food and Sugar Industry Workers’ Union (Şeker-İş). The event took place today in Ankara at a hotel in a symposium format.

At the summit, which focused on the transformation of the food sector in the context of climate change, participants examined the causes of the food crisis, proposed solutions, and identified potential risks and opportunities. Urgent steps needed to combat the effects of the climate crisis were also discussed.

Sessions included topics such as “The Impact of Water and Climate on the Future of Food,” “New Resources and Technologies in the Future of Food,” “New Trends and Perceptions in the Future of Food,” “The Role of Stakeholders in the Future of Food,” and “The Strategic Future of the Sugar Sector.” Sustainability in reliable food production was a key theme throughout the summit.
