Tülin Akın, Co-Founder of Tabit, participated in Turkey’s “Davos” – the Joint Sharing Forum. Akın spoke during the session titled “Women in the Future of Our Work”, sharing her views on women’s entrepreneurship.
Akın participated as a speaker in the 2020 event organized under the presidency of the Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TİSK) in collaboration with HAK-İŞ and TÜRK-İŞ. During the session, she discussed women’s role in the business world, their contribution to the economy, entrepreneurship initiatives, and the place of metal-collar workers in the future workforce.
The session also provided information on the Youth Transformation Education Program, implemented together with TİSK. The session concluded with a video presentation from students. Commenting on the importance of such programs for raising awareness, Akın stated regarding the joint decisions made after the session:
“Regarding the participation of women in the workforce, our country lags behind developed nations. Increasing women’s employment is a shared responsibility for strengthening our country and enhancing its competitiveness. We collectively aim to implement programs that increase women’s participation in economic, social, and public management sectors, and to enhance their representation in leadership and managerial positions.
Another shared goal is to provide professional training aligned with workforce expectations to competent young women and integrate them into employment; and to implement exemplary training programs that develop leadership skills and self-confidence among young female university students and young female employees suitable to become future leaders.”
Following the second edition of the Joint Sharing Forum, which reached approximately one thousand participants, TÜRK-İŞ, HAK-İŞ, and TİSK released a joint statement emphasizing that the three main topics addressed in the 2020 forum are crucial for achieving this year’s theme: “Making Turkey a Production Hub: Let’s Produce Together”, and for advancing the working life in the country.
