TEMA is Ready, Are You?

TEMA Foundation’s Respect for the Earth events, which take place in 22 provinces in our country, are also starting in Hatay. TEMA Hatay, which came together with its district representatives and volunteers to discuss the projects for 2020, announced that it will carry out work with primary and middle schools in the new year.

TEMA’s projects, Respect for the Earth: Protect the Climate and Tree Kardeşliği (Tree-Brotherhood/Sisterhood), were announced.

Projects to be Carried Out in Arsuz, İskenderun, Kırıkhan, and Antakya

A meeting was held at Mustafa Kemal University Faculty of Architecture with the provincial team and volunteers under the representation of TEMA Foundation Hatay Provincial Representative Zehra Güngördü. At the meeting, Provincial Representative Güngördü introduced TEMA Foundation’s new projects. It was stated that the projects will be carried out with the district coordinators of Arsuz, İskenderun, Kırıkhan, and Antakya. The aim of the activities, which will proceed with printed materials, was recorded as “Developing solution proposals that can be produced against climate change.”

Respect for the Earth: Protect the Climate Project to be Carried Out at Antakya Ata College

The Respect for the Earth: Protect the Climate Project, initiated to enable children to notice the changes in nature depending on the seasons, will be carried out at Antakya Ata College.

In the project, which includes third and fourth grades, the causes and consequences of climate change will be discussed with game cards given to the children. After the Respect for the Earth: Protect the Climate Project is completed, the work on the Tree Kardeşliği Project will begin with primary schools. The goal of the project, which will proceed intertwined with soil and saplings, will be to ensure children learn by strengthening their diminishing relationship with nature through experience. The Tree Kardeşliği project will be carried out in Hatay at Antakya Vali Teoman Primary School, Defne Ekin College, and Cemil Şükrü Çolakoğlu Primary School.

The Role of Women in Agriculture to be Addressed at Anemon Hotel on March 15

In cooperation with the TEMA Foundation and the Hatay Women’s Rights Commission, the topic of The Role of Women in Agriculture will be addressed at the Anemon Hotel on Sunday, March 15, at 14:00. TEDx Istanbul speakers Tanfer Dinler, Ebru Baybora Demir, and Tülin Akın, and pioneering names in Hatay will give speeches. The TEDx speakers, who are concrete examples for people with their success stories, will talk about the importance of women’s development to inspire people.
