Tabit History

Tabit is a ‘Social Enterprise’ born in 2004, along with Turkey’s first Social Agriculture Platform and Agricultural News Agency. The aim of the enterprise is to meet the information needs of people living in rural areas and engaged in agricultural production, to increase their quality of life by increasing their productivity and profitability, and to make a positive impact on the future of the World.

Among Tabit’s business models are Technology-based Agricultural Education, Social Responsibility Projects, M2M, IoT, iOS, Android Applications, SMS, MMS, Web-supported Education, and Agricultural Technologies. These models aim to eliminate farmers’ lack of knowledge, increase their efficiency, and increase their profitability by offering technological solutions.

Currently, Tabit serves 1 million 600 thousand farmers in Turkey and cooperates with international companies. Furthermore, Tabit’s business models have begun to be implemented in countries such as Egypt, India, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, and New Zealand, touching the lives of 7 million farmers.

Tabit is guided by a team specialized in investments in agriculturally and socially challenging geographies such as the Middle East, Africa, and the Turkic Republics. This team provides consultancy services to governments, international companies, and institutions.

In 2018, Tabit Projects were selected as the “World’s Best Social Enterprise” at the World Economic Forum, thanks to their international success. This success is a result of the education, R&D, and innovation-focused work carried out by Tabit.
