Digital World, Digital Future

The South Aegean Development Agency (GEKA) is implementing the “Result-Oriented Program for Institutionalization and Digital Transformation in Manufacturing Industry” to accelerate digital and corporate transformation in leading sectors of the region, such as textile, apparel, machinery, equipment, food, and beverage production, thereby contributing to increased revenue and profitability.

Within this scope, online conference sessions (webinars) were held under the title “Digital Future, Digital World” on December 21–22–23, 2021.

During the five sessions held over three days, industry professionals, representatives of non-governmental organizations, academics, and producers discussed digital transformation through the elements of people, business processes, and technology. On Tuesday, December 21, the sessions “The Oil of the 21st Century = Data” and “The Age of Smart Machines = The Rise of Machines” took place; on Wednesday, December 22, “Entering the Digital Universe: Matrix Universe and Metaverse” and “Unmanned (Error-Free) Factories” were held; and on the final day, Thursday, December 23, the session on the digital transformation of the tourism sector, which is critical for the South Aegean, titled “The Age of Technology and Tourism,” was conducted.

During the “Unmanned (Error-Free) Factories” session on the second day of the “Digital Future, Digital World” webinars, Coşkun Yıldırım, Board Member/AgroFuturist at Tabit Smart Agriculture Technologies Inc., shared his knowledge and experiences about successful examples applied in areas similar to his own business processes with the participants.
