Water Awareness in Rural Areas

The “Water Awareness in Rural Areas” project was successfully completed by TABİT in 2008–2009. Implemented in collaboration with Vodafone Turkey, the Agricultural Academy, and the Agricultural Insurance Foundation across 16 provinces in Turkey, the project aimed to raise public awareness about the increasing importance of water, particularly focusing on agricultural irrigation and water use in rural areas.

During the project, Water Awareness in Rural Areas meetings were held, featuring expert speakers such as Tanfer Dinler, General Manager of the Agricultural Insurance Foundation and Agricultural Engineer. These sessions provided participants with information on effective and efficient water use. The meetings highlighted the importance of water management to farmers, local leaders, representatives of agricultural chambers, and other stakeholders, while also showcasing the potential of modern irrigation techniques.

The project emphasized that water is a limited resource and that its misuse can lead to inefficiency. By creating such awareness, the initiative aimed to promote the sustainable and efficient use of water. The project played a significant role in encouraging conscious and effective approaches to water management in rural areas.
