Vodafone Smart Village and TABİT, cited as examples in the “AZMUD – Improvement of Mediterranean Greenhouses” project, received wide coverage in the Spanish media. The project involves 8 companies from 5 countries worldwide.
TABİT, the only Turkish company participating in the EU-supported AZMUD project, has attracted significant attention in Spain for its Vodafone Smart Village. The agricultural technologies used in the Smart Village are planned to be adapted to greenhouses within the project, generating global interest. Spanish media outlets covering the story include Efe:agra, Mundoplast, 2f&H, Agrodiario, Economia3, Química y Sociedad, among others.
The AZMUD project, aiming to improve Mediterranean greenhouses, will run for 42 months. It focuses on using technology and automation, innovative plastic materials, natural additives, and new irrigation methods to enhance greenhouse efficiency, reduce input costs, and increase per-unit yield. The project is coordinated by Aimplas, a Spanish firm with 30 years of experience in plastic technologies.
Participating firms include TABİT (Turkey), Aimplas (Spain), IDAI Nature (Spain), Smartwall (France), Packaging Industries Co., Methods for Irrigation and Agriculture (Jordan), the National Research Center, and Advanced Agricultural Eco Farm (Egypt), with Spanish project manager Javier Peña overseeing coordination.
