Diyarbakır's Agricultural Perspective Workshop was organized to shed light on the future of agriculture.

In the first session of the workshop, under the title of Current Situation and Future Position of Crop Production, the positive/negative effects of cost-increasing factors in agricultural production, the fragmented and scattered structure of agricultural lands, low yield and quality in agricultural production, dependence on the global market in the seed sector, insufficient support for domestic seed companies, insufficiency of R&D infrastructures, economic reasons on a global scale and the negativities in the product-food supply-demand balance on a national and international scale, studies on the production of higher value-added products with new production models, the increase in the cost of production through outsourcing of continuous cost elements and the formation of external dependency of production, the inability of state institutions related to agriculture and small producers to compete against large national and international companies in the free market, the fact that producers do not carry out activities that are complementary to each other (such as crop production and animal production) while carrying out agricultural production activities, practices and administrative control mechanisms aimed at misleading producers with the concern of agricultural input companies to earn more income, agricultural production in Diyarbakır in terms of ecological production and climate change.

In the second session, the current situation and future position of animal production, low yield and quality in agricultural production, studies on the production of higher value-added products with new production models, the inability of state institutions related to agriculture and small producers to compete against large national and international companies in the free market, the strengths of animal production in Diyarbakır province, the obstacles to large investments based on the potential of animal production in Diyarbakır province, organic agriculture, good agricultural practices, and Diyarbakır with the aspect of economic return were discussed.

In the third session titled The Current Situation and Future Place of Agricultural Irrigation with the Use of Agricultural Mechanization and Technologies; the small amount of irrigable land and the ineffective use of existing water resources, the strengths of Diyarbakır province in national and international agricultural production, the example of the distorted structure in agricultural production infrastructure: The situation of Diyarbakır in terms of the role of agriculture-based industry in the development of agricultural production, the export potential of Diyarbakır province's agricultural production products and its competitiveness with provinces such as Gaziantep etc. The change and strategies in the range of products grown with the commissioning of the Silvan Irrigation Project, the input demands that will arise with the production volume that will occur with the commissioning of the Silvan Irrigation Project and the strategies to be made, energy use in agricultural production and problems, what needs to be done, the use of technology in agricultural production and problems, what needs to be done, the use of machinery in agricultural production, the development of high machine prices, standardization and marketing problem in agricultural production, micro energy production practices in agricultural production enterprises were discussed.

In the last session, which started under the title of Current Situation and Future Place of Rural Development; the lack of long-term and stable agricultural policies and strategies, policies and success measurements for the development of Rural Development in Diyarbakır province, the role of local governments in agricultural production, active positive aspects of the role of local governments in agricultural production, encouraging life and production in rural areas by increasing living conditions and comfort in rural areas, production that is disappearing with rural-urban migration, Diyarbakır's position in the supply of raw materials for industry and export, problems and solutions for increasing the domestic and foreign market shares of agricultural products were discussed.

At the workshop, Tabit A.Ş. R&D Manager Orhan Kurt explained the work carried out at the Smart Village to MP and former Minister of Agriculture Mr. Mehdi Eker and TOBB President Mr. M. Rıfat Hisarcıklıoğlu. Mr. Kurt met with Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Mr. Vahit Kirişçi and invited him to Tabit Smart Village.
